We want you to know that no matter where you come from, what you look like, what clothes you are wearing, how much money you make or don't make, whether or not you have ever been a part of a faith community - you are welcome here. Jesus said to "welcome the stranger" and we hope that by welcoming you, then strangers will soon become friends.

Worship and community conversation is currently centered on the Lectionary texts for the week. The Lectionary is a weekly listing of Bible passages scheduled throughout the year. There are plenty of Lectionary resources on the internet; a couple of our favorites are The Upper Room's Daily Reflections and The Text This Week.

The Bible is much more than a book of laws or a manual for personal prosperity, but a thorough description of personal and interactive relationships with God, inviting us to join in the story.

If you are hungry for a fresh vision of “church” and what it means to be a person of faith, come and check out The Essence Worship Gathering at the Pub and explore the revolutionary message of Jesus found in the ancient Hebrew texts as well as the Gospel.

We realize that many folks attracted to The Essence may have never read the Bible before, and that is okay. Now is a great time to begin. It has inspired countless generations before us and continues to inspire us today.
